Basic Course in Semenology & IUI
Ideal for beginners. Provides an insight to andrology. Helps to understand sperm preparation and sperm processing techniques for various ART procedures.

COURSE OBJECTIVE: This module aims at providing basic to advanced knowledge in Semenology and sperm preparation techniques, guided hands on will aid the candidate to understand & confidently perform the same.
METHODOLOGY OF TRAINING:
Interactive Basic sessions covering:-
Semen collection, delivery and method of collection.
Initial & Macroscopic Examination.
Microscopic examination for count & motility.
Morphology estimation according to WHO & Kruger's strict criterion.
Advanced tests like Hypo Osmotic Swelling Test, Vital Staining, and Fructose estimation.
Optional tests like sperm chromatin assay, ROS estimation, estimation of Zinc, anti sperm antibodies etc.
Sperm preparation techniques.
Guided Hands on Training In:
Initial & macroscopic examination.
Microscopic estimation for count & motility.

ADVANCED COURSE IN ICSI
A course totally devoted to hands on perfecting the fine skills of ICSI.
A course covering all aspects of ICSI

COURSE OBJECTIVE: Participant receives 1:1 training, develops knowledge and skills in micromanipulation instrument handling & operation.
METHODOLOGY OF TRAINING:
Interactive sessions covering:
Basic instrumentation - inverted microscope and micro manipulator.
Alignment of micromanipulator and loading of micro tools.
Oocyte preparation for ICSI.
Sperm preparation from various types of samples such as ejaculate, PESA, MESA,TESA and TESE
Dos & Don'ts of lCSI.
Performing ICSI
Video and/or live demonstration of
Oocyte denudation for ICSI.
Guided hands on covering:
Dish preparation for ICSI.
Sperm preparation by density gradient/ swim-up method.
Alignment of micromanipulator & loading of micro tools.
Oil loading into the injectors, equilibration of micro tools.
Loading of sperm and oocytes on to the prepared ICSI dish.
Sperm immobilization and loading of immobilized sperm in the injection micropipette.
Holding of denuded oocyte and performing ICSI.
Note: This module is appropriate for candidates who are well versed & experienced in oocyte handling & IVF procedures

INTRODUCTORY COURSE IN ART
A comprehensive course coupled with lectures and hands-on incorporating all the ART techniques. Includes basic instrumentation and application support.

COURSE OBJECTIVE: This course provides comprehensive hands-on training on a one-one basis in all fields of IVF & ICSI. Various aspects in the clinical management of the patient will be covered exhaustively.
METHODOLOGY OF TRAINING:
Interactive series of lectures with audio / visual aids by our experienced internal and visiting faculty.
Video / multimedia presentation of critical clinical aspects of setting up of an ideal IVF laboratory, follicular study, ovum pick up, oocyte stripping, Laser assisted hatching, oocyte - zygote and embryo culture, embryo transfer and andrology.
One-on-one hands-on training in the following laboratory aspects:
Routine analysis, advanced semen analysis, sperm preparation for IUI & ART.
Dish preparation for IVF and ICSI.
Types of media, media handling, aliquoting and subsequent storage.
Oocyte and embryo handling transfer between the droplets and dishes.
Catheter loading for IUI and embryo transfer.
Micromanipulation components, mechanics and installation instructions.
Aligning of micromanipulator, micro tools and preparing for injection.
Sperm immobilization and mock injection followed by ICSI (use of animal oocyte).
Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and QC/ QA.
Cryopreservation of gametes and embryos (demonstration only).

CERTIFICATE COURSE IN ART
An extension of the Introductory course in ART- includes a five day visit to a reputed IVF center to understand the live functioning of the ART procedures and sharpening of skills for another 5 days on their return back to EART.

COURSE OBJECTIVE: This course aims at providing detailed theoretical knowledge and extensive hands-on training on a 1:1 basis in all aspects of IVF and ICSI. In this module, the candidate will be given an opportunity to visit and observe the actual lab setup and functioning of a reputed clinical IVF center for 5 days.
METHODOLOGY OF TRAINING:
Interactive series of lectures with audio / visual aids by our experienced internal and visiting faculty.
Video/ multimedia presentation of critical clinical aspects of setting up of an ideal IVF laboratory, follicular study, ovum pick up, oocyte stripping, laser assisted hatching, oocyte - zygote and embryo scoring, extended culture and embryo transfer
1:1 hands-on training in the following laboratory aspects:
Routine semen analysis, advanced semen analysis, sperm preparation for IUI and ART.
Dish preparation for IVF and ICSI.
Types of media, media handling, aliquoting and subsequent storage
Oocyte and embryo handling transfer between the droplets and dishes.
Catheter loading for IUI and embryo transfer.
Micromanipulation components, mechanics and installation instructions.
Aligning micromanipulator, micro tools and preparing for sperm injection.
Sperm immobilization and mock injection followed by ICSI.
Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and QC/ QA.
Cryopreservation of gametes and embryos (demonstration only).
Note: This module provides observership in an actual clinical set up for 5 days, (no hands-on experience will be available during observership)

TRAINEES WILL GET: Course Manual and a certificate of Training accredited by EPA, UK on completion and access to in house facilities like library, CDs and internet (for reference within EART center only).
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE COURSE: Masters degree in any branch of life sciences or MBBS or MD.
